On behalf of the organising committee, we are delighted to invite you to participate in Symposium Mines Guinée (SMG 2008), which will take place from 13 – 14 October 2008, in Conakry, Republic of Guinea.
The event is organized by the Ministère des Mines et de la Géologie, Republic of Guinea, in association with AME Trade Ltd, United Kingdom.
SMG 2008: An established event
SMG 2008 will be the next edition of a series of mining events that the Ministère des Mines et de la Géologie, République de Guinée, has been organising on a biannual basis. Previous versions have included FISM 2004 which took place in Conakry, Guinea and SMG 2006, which was organised in Dusseldorf, Germany and attracted over 300 participants.
SMG 2008 will have a very special significance as the date of the event has been specially selected to coincide with the 50th Anniversary of the Republic of Guinea’s Independence, which will be celebrated on October 2nd 2008.
SMG 2008 to focus on Guinea’s mining sector and its benefits for the country’s long term integrated development
SMG 2008’s main theme will be the Guinean mining sector and the long term Integrated Development of the country. SMG 2008 will thereby provide a platform for all stakeholders to debate and decide on, how this can be achieved.
The mining sector is crucial to the success of the Guinea’s economy, accounting for 75% of export revenues and is the engine to drive forward the country’s long term sustainable economic development strategy.
Format of the event: SMG 2008: a turnkey event
SMG 2008 will include two days of intensive conference plenary and technical sessions, featuring speeches from the key decision makers and stakeholders in the Guinean mining sector.
The SMG 2008 exhibition will be held simultaneously alongside the conference, allowing companies to demonstrate and market their products and services to a predefined and specially targeted selection of potential buyers.
SMG 2008 will be a vital source of the latest information, whether you are already involved in or new to Guinea’s mining sector. SMG 2008 will gather a diverse ranging of participants emanating from Guinea and internationally, from both the private sector and public sector, with the result of a stimulating debate, concrete actions and significant business opportunities.
